A Taste of Fjellsangin: Curated Cabin Meals Made Simple

The breakfast board at Fjellsangin.

Evenings at Fjellsangin have their own rhythm. Soft light through the tall windows, the Jøtul running low, whatever's been playing softly on the speaker all afternoon. The last thing that moment needs is a grocery run — and out here, that's not a quick errand. Morton to the south and Eatonville to the west are both about thirty to thirty-five minutes each way, and neither is cheap.

The Curated Meal Kits are designed for exactly this: food that's already in the fridge, pre-prepped and portioned, ready to finish. Whether you're arriving late from a long drive, coming in from a full day on the mountain, or staying in all day by choice — dinner is waiting.

Dinner

The dinner kits come pre-prepped and labeled, needing only a finishing step or two. Guest favorites include Mountain Pizza Night with seasonal toppings and a side salad — the right first-night meal when you want to unpack, not plan. Grill Night with handcrafted burger and bratwurst fixings and house aioli — the meat comes from the butcher in Morton, who sources locally. Pasta and salad with local greens and lemon-dill dressing. A wild rice and roasted vegetable bowl for quieter evenings.

One guest said the herb cream salad dressing was the best she'd ever had. We'll take it.

Each dinner pairs well with a pour from the Sparkle Bar — Simple Goodness Sisters botanical syrups over sparkling water — or with a local cider or wine. The Taj Mahal quartzite island, walnut cabinetry, the mother-of-pearl coin backsplash catching the evening light — it's a kitchen people actually want to cook in.

Breakfast

The breakfast kits make the slow morning possible without preparation. Alpenglow Oats: creamy overnight oats layered with local fruit and maple, waiting in the fridge. Summit Bowl: Greek yogurt with granola and Cascades honey. Coffee is on the counter — Dillanos, roasted in Sumner, ground to your preference before you arrive. Just let us know when you book whether you're a drip or French press household.

Lunch

The packable lunch kits are built for the trail or the porch. The Wildflower Bento travels well — seasonal vegetables, pickled elements, grains. The Fjell Fuel Box is the heartier option: protein, greens, something sweet. Both come ready to grab on the way out the door.

There is a café at Paradise, but the options are limited and the lines in summer are not. Having your own lunch means you eat when you want, where you want — at a viewpoint, on a trail, wherever the mountain puts you.

Food as Philosophy

I am obsessive about food. Lee laughs at me because I can describe a meal from ten years ago in detail — what it was, where I was sitting, what the light was like. I'm always planning the next one. Cooking and entertaining are things I genuinely love, and the meal kits came out of that.

The approach follows the same logic as everything else at Fjellsangin: regionally sourced where possible, packaged to minimize waste, portioned so nothing ends up in the trash. The labeling was designed with the same attention as the rest of the cabin.

The Invitation

The Curated Meal Kits are available to pre-order before your stay — dinner, breakfast, lunch, or all three. Everything arrives ready to go. You just have to show up hungry.
