INTIMATE CEREMONIES · ASHFORD, WASHINGTON
The whole place.
Your closest people.
A private forest retreat for ceremonies that need no audience — only intention, stillness, and 4,436 acres of permanently protected Nisqually Land Trust forest behind you. Up to 10 guests for the ceremony. Six stay the night.
THE FJELLSANGIN WAY
A ceremony that stays with you.
Fjellsangin wasn't built for events. It was built for presence — and that makes all the difference. Up to 10 guests for the ceremony, the whole cabin sleeping six for the night that follows. The smaller the list, the more deliberate every detail becomes — the florals, the meal, the photographs, the people in the room. The forest just beyond the back of the property isn't decor. It's a living thing that has been protected for good, quietly holding the same ground it always has.
"You don't need a crowd to mark the beginning of a life together. You need a place that feels like it matters."

THE SPACE
Everything in its place.
Designed for full-property use. Every room, every detail, purpose-built for an unhurried stay.
Indoors and entirely private. Yours for the full stay — morning of, first night after, whenever the day calls for it.
Cedar-post pavilion, set back in the trees. Usable in any weather. The right way to end a day like this.
For the slow breakfast before your vows and the celebration dinner after. A kitchen built for both.
Open, light-filled, white v-groove walls throughout. The getting-ready space that makes the morning feel like it belongs to you.
Built around a glacial boulder. A detail that earns its own frame. (Seasonably available.)
Nisqually Land Trust conservation land directly behind the property. Permanently protected. Never to be developed.
YOUR DAY
How a day here tends to move.
There is no schedule to keep but your own. Here is one way a day at Fjellsangin can unfold — though yours will find its own rhythm.
Morning in the forest
Coffee from the bar, condensation on the windows, the forest doing what it does. An hour before the world asks anything of you.
01
The ceremony
In the great room in front of the fire, on the pavilion between the cedar posts, or wherever you decide to stand and say the words. There is no wrong place here.
02
The meal
The chef's kitchen was made for a day like this. Bring a private chef, order a spread from town, or cook something together — the quartzite counter has room for all of it.
03
The sauna and the forest
The cedar sauna opens up time. The hot tub extends it. The fire closes it. You don't need to be anywhere tomorrow that matters more than here.
04
AT A GLANCE
The numbers that shape the day.
Your closest people. Nothing more.

EVERYTHING INCLUDED
What comes with the cabin.
Fjellsangin is a full-property rental — nothing parceled, nothing extra. When you book, it's yours.
Cedar-lined. Private. Yours before the ceremony and after. The ritual that makes the day feel complete.
Cedar posts, covered, set back in the trees. Ready when you come back — whatever time that turns out to be.
Scandinavian-designed, gas. The great room gathers around it. Your first evening together starts here.
Taj Mahal quartzite, walnut cabinetry, live-edge maple shelves. Room for a real wedding dinner — however you want to make it.
Built around a glacial boulder. A detail that earns its own moment — and its own photograph.
4,436 permanently protected acres behind the property. The ceremony backdrop you cannot rent, build, or recreate anywhere else.
FOR PHOTOGRAPHERS & WEDDING PLANNERS
Bring your couples here.
We work directly with Pacific Northwest elopement photographers and wedding planners. The white v-groove walls, live-edge wood details, and protected forest backdrop offer a range of environments within a single property — and the ceremony fee includes a referral commission for the photographer or planner who brings them here.
Reach out to discuss the arrangement.
RESERVE FJELLSANGIN
Your day deserves the whole place.
The forest will be exactly where it is when you arrive — permanent and patient, the way the land trust intended it.
QUESTIONS
Before you reach out.
-
Yes. Outside caterers are welcome with advance coordination. The chef's kitchen is available for prep and plating. Plan for your caterer to arrive, set up, and break down within your ceremony window — no commercial equipment, and the kitchen is restored before you leave. Reach out to hello@fjellsangin.com to confirm logistics before booking.
-
Amplified music isn't permitted outdoors. The property sits in a residential forest setting and we want to be good neighbors. Acoustic music is welcome — a single guitar, a small string duo, a Bluetooth speaker at conversational volume. If music is central to your ceremony, plan for something that fits the scale of the space rather than fills it.
-
For very small groups, the interior of the cabin works as a ceremony space. Beyond that, there's no covered outdoor structure available as a rain alternative. Pacific Northwest weather in Ashford moves fast in both directions — October rain can clear by afternoon, and June can surprise you. We recommend building flexibility into your timeline and having a simple indoor plan ready. Reach out before your stay and we can talk through what works for your group size.
-
Yes. Washington State allows any ordained person to perform a marriage ceremony. Your officiant does not require a separate commercial permit as part of your party.
-
The $2,500 ceremony fee is non-refundable within 60 days of your ceremony date. Cancellations made more than 60 days in advance receive a full refund of the ceremony fee. The overnight stay follows standard cancellation policy. We recommend travel insurance for any outdoor ceremony booking.
-
Yes, with some limits. Florals, candles, and simple personal arrangements are welcome. No structural installations, no event lighting that requires mounting or staking, and nothing needing professional setup or teardown. The property should look as it did when you arrived — or better. If you're planning more than a few floral arrangements, reach out before your stay so we can confirm it works with the space.
