HOW YOUR DAY UNFOLDS
Four acts.
One day you won't forget.
The ceremony belongs to the mountain. Fjellsangin is where the day begins and where it ends — the slow morning before, the return after. The park handles everything in between.
The cabin is yours from the moment you check in. A slow dinner in the chef's kitchen, the covered hot tub in the trees, the Jøtul fireplace going in the great room. The night before your ceremony is not a waiting room — it's the start of something. Get some sleep. Tomorrow matters.
The great room fills with light early. You have the entire cabin — the chef's kitchen for a slow breakfast, the cedar sauna if the nerves need settling, and time that belongs to no one else. Your photographer arrives. The day starts at your pace. The white walls and natural light in here are not an accident.
Ten minutes down Mt. Tahoma Canyon Road and you are at the Nisqually Entrance. Wildflower meadows at Paradise in late summer. The still water at Reflection Lakes. The falls at Narada. Ceremonies inside the park require a permit — your photographer will know the process and the spots that work for the season you're marrying in.
The covered hot tub is ready. The cedar sauna is warm. If you added the Honeymoon Package it's already staged — Sparkle Bar, Alpenglow Board, the full first-night experience waiting inside. You have the cabin for your full stay, and the days that follow are as unhurried as you want them to be.
THE SPACE
Built for the before.
And the after.
The great room fills with light early. White v-groove walls, natural light from the forest side, cedar headboards in the king bedrooms — the kind of space where the morning of your ceremony feels unhurried and exactly right. The chef's kitchen handles the slow breakfast before you leave.
When you come back, the cedar sauna is warm. The covered hot tub pavilion is set back in the trees, ready in any weather. The Jøtul fireplace closes the evening. 4,436 acres of permanently protected Nisqually Land Trust forest sit directly behind the property — the same trees you can see from the hot tub.

The Mountain
is the venue.
A Special Use Permit is required for all wedding ceremonies inside Mount Rainier National Park. The process is straightforward — the park's natural setting does the rest. Weather at elevation is unpredictable, and snow at Paradise can persist well into July, which is exactly why having the cabin ten minutes from the gate matters. Your photographer will know the permit process and the approaches that work for each season.

FOR PHOTOGRAPHERS & WEDDING PLANNERS
Bring your couples here.
We work directly with Pacific Northwest elopement photographers and wedding planners. The cabin is designed with the getting-ready session in mind — white v-groove walls, natural light from the forest side, and interior details that photograph without any setup. The grounds carry the same intention: a cedar-post hot tub pavilion and landscaping designed to frame the forest rather than compete with it. A referral commission is available for the photographer or planner who recommends Fjellsangin. Media kit with professional photography available on request.
PRE-ARRANGED ADD-ONS
Everything staged.
Nothing to manage.
Add-ons are ordered through the Host Co store and waiting at the cabin on arrival. You have coordinated enough. This part is handled.
Alpenglow Board, Alpine Fondue for Two, Sparkle Bar Kit, and Fireside Cinema — the full first-night experience, pre-staged and waiting when you walk through the door.
Small-batch syrups, craft bitters, and recipe cards for two — boozy and zero-proof options. For the toast you have been waiting to make.
Artisan cheese and charcuterie for two, designed for a first-night arrival. Ready when you walk through the door.
Classic Swiss-style fondue with everything you need for an unhurried in-cabin dinner. Fireplace optional. Highly recommended.
In-cabin movie night — streaming, blankets, and popcorn kit. The right way to end a day like this one.
A curated snack board designed for the sauna-to-hot-tub sequence. Local provisions, no prep required.
QUESTIONS
Before you reach out.
-
NPS permit fees are set by the park and may change annually. Contact Mount Rainier National Park's permit office directly for current pricing. Your elopement photographer will likely know the current fee structure.
-
At least 2 to 3 months in advance for summer and early fall dates. Paradise and other high-elevation locations fill quickly. Apply as early as the park allows — your photographer can walk you through the process.
-
Yes. Washington State allows any ordained person to perform a marriage ceremony. Your officiant does not require a separate commercial permit as part of your party.
-
Weather at elevation is unpredictable — snow at Paradise can persist into July. Having Fjellsangin as your basecamp means you have a beautiful backup close to the Nisqually Entrance if conditions change. The great room, the covered pavilion, and the forest behind the property are all there if you need them.
-
Absolutely. You're welcome to bring any photographer. The referral commission program is for photographers who recommend Fjellsangin to their couples — it doesn't restrict who you work with.
-
Yes — and we recommend it. The 2-night minimum means you arrive the evening before, settle in, and wake up ready. The day starts at your pace, not in a rush from a hotel.
