ABOUT FJELLSANGIN

Inspired by the Mountain. Built for Stillness.

Rooted in a love of the mountains, Fjellsangin — Norwegian for “Mountain Song” — is a refuge for those craving calm, connection, and a slower rhythm.

Tucked at the base of Mount Rainier National Park, it’s where thoughtful design meets quiet beauty and the rhythm of nature guides every detail.

Rooted in Place

Where the mountain meets stillness

Fjellsangin (pronounced FYELL-sahn-ghin, Norwegian for “Mountain Song”) was created to bring the stillness of Mount Rainier into daily life.

Every decision — from the locally sourced wood to the rhythm of light through the evergreens — was made to honor this landscape and invite restoration.

Here, time stretches.

Mornings move slowly, afternoons soften, and evenings gather quietly by the fire.

This is more than a cabin — it’s a space to return to yourself.

Design That Breathes

Where material and light find balance.

Inside Fjellsangin, design lives in rhythm with the mountain — natural, grounded, and intentional.

Walnut and alder shift with the light, custom Douglas fir stairs rise with warmth and weight, and live-edge maple shelves echo the forest’s quiet lines.

A mother-of-pearl backsplash shimmers like water, while satin bronze hardware brings warmth to every touchpoint.

Even the coffee bar carries the forest inside — its silhouette-tree wallpaper and maple shelving creating a moment of calm to begin the day.

Every detail was designed to feel timeless, textural, and rooted in place.

Living Lightly

Sustainability at the center.

Sustainability at Fjellsangin isn’t an afterthought — it’s part of the design itself.

The exterior, crafted from Woodtone RusticSeries, mirrors the warmth of cedar while protecting the forest through durable, low-impact materials.

Inside, locally milled wood, efficient systems, and natural cleaning products keep the air — and the conscience — clear.

Guests can travel lightly, too, with an EV charger on-site and thoughtful touches that minimize waste.

To stay here is to live gently, in rhythm with Mount Rainier’s forests and the wild landscape that surrounds it.

The Spaces

Designed for calm, built for connection.

Each space at Fjellsangin was crafted with intention — places to gather, rest, and restore.
From the morning ritual of coffee to evenings by the fire, the cabin invites you to slow down and savor each moment.

The Great Room

The heart of Fjellsangin.

Anchored by lofted ceilings and framed in forest views, the great room is where warmth and stillness meet.

A Jøtul gas fireplace centers the space, its flame reflecting off the walnut and alder details that run throughout the cabin.

Above, the vaulted architecture draws the eye upward, capturing the play of light that shifts with each hour of the day.

A 65” Roku TV, Bluetooth Marshall speaker, and a curated collection of board and card games invite long evenings in.

Handknit throws and soft seating create an atmosphere of comfort and connection — a gathering place that balances the energy of shared moments with the calm of mountain quiet.

It’s a room that feels as expansive as it is intimate.

The Kitchen

A space built for rhythm and ritual.

The kitchen blends modern form with natural warmth — walnut cabinetry, a fluted walnut island, and luminous Taj Mahal quartzite counters that glow softly in changing light.

A mother-of-pearl coin backsplash catches that light and scatters it gently across the room, echoing the shimmer of snow outside in winter or filtered sun in summer.

A large island dining area invites conversation as meals come together, the sounds of cooking mingling with laughter and the quiet hum of the forest beyond.

Live-edge maple shelving and understated hardware keep the space grounded in simplicity — designed as much for shared meals as for slow morning rituals.

The Coffee Bar

A ritual in light and texture.

Custom tree-patterned wallpaper sets the tone — a quiet nod to the forest beyond the windows — while locally sourced live-edge maple shelves hold curated essentials for slow mornings.

Soft light filters across white v-groove paneling and walnut details, creating a space that feels both intimate and intentional.

The bar is stocked with DCR Coffee and Apolis Teas from nearby Sumner, offering several ways to brew: Keurig, drip, or French Press, depending on your rhythm.

Every item is chosen for ease and ritual — a space made for unhurried mornings and unspoken calm.

It’s more than coffee; it’s a small daily ceremony, a place to pause before the day begins — where the scent of cedar and espresso mingle as the light shifts through the trees.

The Bedrooms

Where quiet becomes its own language.

Each bedroom is its own retreat — grounded in natural light, softened by texture, and framed by the forest beyond.

King beds dressed in linen duvets and handknit wool throws invite deep rest, while custom Pendleton accents add warmth and a distinctly Northwest character.

Wall-mounted 50” Roku TVs provide entertainment for slow evenings in, complemented by the comfort of waffle robes and the convenience of in-room safes.

Locally sourced alder trim and minimalist details keep the focus on calm — light shifting across wood, the hush of trees outside, and the stillness of morning.

Every element, from the natural fibers to the locally sourced materials, was chosen to create balance: modern yet timeless, refined yet deeply rooted in place.

The Bathrooms

Grounded, minimal, restorative.

Clean lines meet natural textures in Fjellsangin’s two full baths — one upstairs, one down.

Soft neutral tile, wood accents, and filtered light create spaces that feel calm and quietly refined — an exhale after time outdoors.

Each bath is stocked with Apotheke shampoo, conditioner, and body wash, chosen for their clean formulations and subtle, nature-inspired scent.

Grohe European shower hardware with rainshower heads brings a spa-like touch, pairing modern performance with timeless design.

Plush cotton towels, waffle robes, and the gentle warmth of wood continue the cabin’s language of comfort — simple, sensory, and rooted in stillness.

Every detail, from the light’s reflection on tile to the hush of the forest outside, invites a quiet return to balance.

Exterior Spaces

Nature, redefined by stillness.

Step outside and the rhythm shifts — forest air, filtered light, and the quiet presence of the mountain all around.

A covered hot-tub pavilion, anchored with locally sourced cedar logs, offers year-round soaking beneath the trees.

The stone firepit, surrounded by boulder seating, invites long evenings under the stars, while the deck extends the living space outdoors with a dining table, lounge seating, and gas grill for unhurried meals in open air.

Beside the hot tub, a pair of Adirondack chairs waits — the perfect spot for morning coffee or the last conversation of the night.

Every detail, from timber to lighting, was designed to blend seamlessly with the landscape, letting nature remain the focus and the mountain set the tone.

The Sauna & Outdoor Shower

A Nordic ritual, reimagined.

Just beyond the cabin, a cedar-lined sauna offers a retreat within a retreat — a space to warm the body, clear the mind, and reconnect with the rhythm of the mountain.

Built for stillness and restoration, it carries the scent of cedar and the hush of the surrounding forest.

During warmer months, a seasonal outdoor shower provides the perfect counterpoint — cool mountain air meeting warm skin, water falling beneath open sky.

It’s a sensory experience shaped by nature’s contrasts: heat and cold, silence and sound, solitude and renewal.

Together, they form Fjellsangin’s signature wellness ritual — simple, elemental, and deeply restorative — a reminder that slowing down begins with returning to the body.

Return to Stillness.

This winter, find warmth beneath the mountain — mornings that linger, evenings that soften, and a rhythm that asks nothing more than to rest.
